Going back and reading these reviews it seems like these are staff members of BMT writing these reviews, not actually promotional staff. BMT hardly ever has any job postings, and there pay is always close to the bare minimum or barely standard.
I was scheduled to work this past weekend for NASCAR in Dallas, TX for BMT. First off, there was NO COMMUNICATION whatsoever. Did not receive a confirmation for event until the week of, and details were very minimal. Two of the other girls scheduled to work, did not even hear back from BMT at all to know they were booked until the week of either, even after calling and emailing BMT several times. The email I replied to working said accommodations would be covered for girls approved to work in the VIP suite (which was important to me since the racetrack was over 2 hours away). After being approved and booked to work in the VIP suite, I find out that accommodations were not being covered anymore. At this point, I had already turned down all other work waiting on BMT so basically had no choice to go ahead.
The day before the event my uncle passed away. I was scheduled to work Saturday and Sunday so wanted to let BMT know that I may not be there one of the days, but wanted to talk to them to see if I could still come and work on Sunday (I did not want to seem unprofessional and just cancel altogether, EVEN though it was due to a family member passing away). I called and left messages with several of the BMT staff members, emailed – everything I could do to try to get a hold of someone there to let them know what was going on. No reply, all day long. Finally that evening I called the Emergency line, no answer. The email said we could text the Emergency line as well, so I did. I asked for someone to PLEASE let me know they are getting my messages and I wouldn't be there in the morning. Still to this day, NOBODY at BMT has even acknowledged my emails/texts/voicemails. I feel this is not only rude, but extremely unprofessional.
I would not recommend working with BMT. They are very unprofessional, horrible at communication, and in short full of BS. Don't even waste your time, because that's clearly all working with BMT is about.

JuJu,
I'm sorry you feel that you had a bad experience with BMT.
As the Staffing Manager for BMT and the Texas event you are referring to, I can explain a lot for you.
Travel for the event was accommodated for those who lived out of state. When this information was given to you over the phone, you said you completely understood since you were local and figured that was the case.
Your Eventspeak post also refers to asking to work the last day and wondering why we did not get back with you. I am sure you intended to ask those questions, and perhaps in the craziness of hearing there was a death in the family, you thought you asked us those things, but you did not.
Here is the email we received:
"Hi Candace, I just tried to call but it went straight to voicemail so wanted to send you an email right away. I just got a call from my mom & my uncle just passed away. They aren't sure exactly what happened yet, my aunt just walked in and found him. Everyone is hysterical at the moment. I'm so sorry I am going to head out there right away so will not be able to go to Fort Worth to pick up the parking pass and am really unsure if I will be able to work this weekend. I am so sorry for this :("
You also texted the emergency number:
"Hello, this is (name withheld), I'm supposed to be working NASCAR tomorrow in Dallas. I left a message and emailed Candace letting her know my uncle passed away today so will not be able to make it. Didn't hear back yet and saw we could text/call this emergency # so wanted to go ahead and do that as well"
At that time, we did not write back, I thought it would be best to just let you be to handle your family business. However, if I had to do it over again. I would have responded back to the text with "Thanks for letting us know and sorry for your loss"
I just need to clarify that at no time did you ask us to get back to you, nor did you ask to work Sunday, and therefore we did not "leave you hanging" in that regard. Again, we understand it was an emotional weekend, so perhaps your memory is cloudy.
We wish you the best of luck in the future and are truly sorry that you did not have a better experience with us.

It has been a few years since I worked with BMT but I have not a complaint. Good job, fair wage and on time pay.

I have worked with BMT. I did not have a good experience. I worked for them in October, now it's December and I still have not been paid. I received this message November 23rd,
Thank you for doing a great job for us at the Drive4COPD in Kansas City.
We are writing you because there is a delay in your payment. We always like to pay staff within the stated 6 week timeframe. Occasionally this can take longer and we always want to notify you when this is the case.
At this time we are working on getting you paid as soon as possible. We will update you again regarding your payment status as soon as we have further information.
We greatly apologize for the delay.
Thank you,
I emailed Matt and the BMT accounting department. Both of my emails were sent back to me/rejected from the respective inbox's. I called today 12/06/2011 and was told the payment for this event still has not been made. Then the young lady I spoke to tell me to call back Dec. 19th to see if payment has been mailed. I am very upset over this. I am looking into what I can do to resolve this matter outside of dealing with BMT. I am spreading the word everywhere I can about this situation. Do not work for them.

I received the same email from BMT about payment delay on Nov. 23rd and nothing since. This job was October 7th, a 3 day job. Over 2 months later, still no payment!
I am sure many people turned down other jobs to work those 3 days, I know I did and I was counting on that money to pay my bills. Their "delay" has caused me alot of grief and struggle.
I would not recommend this company at all. I have worked in the promo/marketing field for over 20 years and although there have been a few companies who were slightly late with payment and even one that did not pay at all, then went out of business, I have never seen such dis-regard for the very people who make a promotion company successful; the brand ambassadors/promo staff!
Refusing emails and phone calls regarding payment? Shameful.

I also worked that event and got same email. Very disappointing. I did have other job offers for that event but stayed with BMT. I was always there a half hour early, worked my butt off and ended up losing my voice. They also put fear into everyone's mind saying at the end of the first day they were going to look at our number and let some of us go. I did my part of the deal. I was counting on that paycheck to use for Christmas. I am also looking into outside sources to see what I can do to get paid.

I have worked with BMT on multiple occasions over the last few years and I love them! I work for around 20 different event staffing places and they are by far my favorite. At every event they are very professional while still being fun and relaxed. Every event I've worked for them has been a ton of fun and didn't even feel like I was working. I worked a Superbowl promotion for them this passed weekend (2/5/12) and I had a blast. I wish every event I work could be as fun and laid back as this one. I worked from 4-10:30 and it was so fun that it flashed by and when it was over I found myself wishing it was longer. That's a great way to feel when you're working. Also, they are great at getting paychecks out quickly! I've even received my checks earlier than expected on multiple occasions! I highly recommend BMT! :)

I worked with them for the first time at the NASCAR race in Homestead, FL on Nov 19 and 20, 2011. It has been almost 90 days and they have not paid me. I know several people who worked the same event and they have got paid yet either. All emails i received from them just Thank me for my patience and that they assure me the payment will be made. Im tired of this situation! Their contract says that "compensation will be made four to six weeks"………so I dont reccomend this company

Thanks for the laugh! These early posts of how great BMT is and how quickly they pay is nothing but absurd! I'm still waiting for my payment from a four day event in October of last year! If you are an event planner or brand ambassador stay far far away from BMT Promotions & Talent

Just recently worked a promo with them and they are both energetic and kind. Willing to work with you and accommodate. Matt seems to be quite hands on with the events and definitely a joy to work with, this company definitely is worth getting involved with.

I agree many of these posts look like they were made by BMT staff or many by one person. Worked for them some time back and received the exact same, what appears to be generic and often used email from them stating there was a delay in pay. No explanation could be given when asked, just to check in later. Waited, waited, checked in, still waiting. This situation isn't as frustrating to me as it is to others as I'm confident I will eventually be compensated, there is a contract. However, it really is unfortunate that one has to work AFTER the event is over to get paid. It may have been a great event/relationship but this does nothing but make both sides look poor to each other. A bad business practice that I hear about but had not experienced in a long time. I manage tours 3/4 of the year and stay in market the rest, have done this for several years now, and they really did not stand out as being a 'great' agency as some have professed.

BMT is great! I work events for them in NY. Often I am paid on site immediately after. Totally legit, fun events! :-)

I worked my first event with BMT in NYC (a 5-hour "flash mob" style event, at the Today Show, and around Times Square). BMT was professional; and the event was smooth. They cut checks directly after the event and worked quickly. The BMT staff was friendly; and I had a good experience.
I've been working as a Brand Ambassador on-call with several companies for more than 7 years, and I will happily try to work with BMT again.

BMT is an excellent promotional marketing company. I recently worked with them for the Craver’s Nation Flash Mob in New York City. They were professional, organized, and most surprisingly then any other promo company they paid us on the spot. Definitely looking forward to the next event.

I work on one of thier events last week in New York. It was a great experience because it was for N.Y., "The Today Show." Got paid right after the event and look forward to working with them again.

I recently worked an event this past weekend for BMT and I was truly impressed with how they were able to take 100 or so staff whom they did not know in a location that they were unfamiliar with and manage us all so well. While I understand this is what they do, I just wanted to say I felt they did it well. Matt and Anthony are very personable, approachable and easy to talk to. They took a moment at the beginning of a long day to do some team building and made you feel like you were a valuable team member. Whether you were directing people to the restrooms or working a challenging obstacle on a course smiles were abundant. I really enjoyed my weekend working for them and would recommend them to friends.

I worked for BMT at the Tough Mudder event and my site managers Anthony and Matt were absolutely wonderful. Both of these men were very informative and got all 100 of the workers breaks in a timely manner. Over all working for BMT Promotions was a excellent experience and I would do it over and over!
