Hello friends.
Would like to ask your oppinion about one phenomenon in the marketing world, thoughts about don`t give leave me.
I observe the tendency of starting projects in online marketplace in different countries which give to big companies and freelancers work together directly. I think it`s very interesting and exellent idea for the client and executor side. But whether we pass to a new stage of existence of advertising agencies? May be it will be much more favourably to have interactive office in the future?

Hi Velv,

I am not clear on what you are asking. I understand the interactive office concept. I understand the online marketplace. I don't understand what you are asking.

Cheers.

I'm not 100% sure what you are asking either but I'll take a crack at it. Just correct me if I'm off track.

Advertising agency will never be completely online or even mostly online until technology greatly improves as in some time of matrix technology where it seem like I'm right in front of you. Being creative on that level takes synergy. People will create better when in front of another person.

Now, on the other hand technology has enabled us to reach out across the world and get creative with others. Video conferencing and project management software give smaller companies and edge (but also larger companies).

I will not say more until you let us know if this is what you are talking about. Don't want to rant on and on and cover the wrong subject :)

Dear friends,
Thank you for your replies.
But i tell about such kind of projects as guru.com, elance.com, bootb.com
They give the opportunity for creators from different field of marketing to bid for projects separately from the agencies. Agencies may take part in pitches too as i understood from description these marketplaces.
So there is no necessity for clients and executors to meet. All that you need it`s just to use the Internet.
What do you tink about it?

Nope, won't ever realize.

Experiential marketing is about face-to-face interaction with the consumer. Plus, clients never go straight to the agencies which we are all familiar. I worked for an advertising agency before stepping into the event world (oh gosh, much better experiences for this youngen!). The ad agency will be contacted by the client who then hires a promotion company which still most of us are not familiar (unless you do tours). The greatness of this industry stems from being able to meet who you're working with. Usually the clients and ad agencies are stationed in big cities (e.g. Chicago, San Francisco, New York) and they meet with one another to discuss potential programs. It may sound like an easy way to do business, but flakes are abound on the Internet; take, for instance, the bubble burst of '01. If you don't go into eCommerce with a good business plan and lots of financial backing, then you're gonna end up a flop. Lack of business skills is the reason we deal with so many flaky staffing agencies. Good try velv, but no venture capitalist would ever fund your program. Basically, today you have to be established or work very hard and have an entrepreneurial mindset.

Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital. It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed.

I think you will see the expansion of the remote home office scenario long before you see the virtual office where clients and agencies meet online. Let's face it clients still love face to face glad handing, tickets to the big game, a nice dinner hosted by your supplier / agency. I think employees working in an office environment will give way to employees working from home. But you will still need the conference room for weekly meetings and client presentations. I know a lot of the Marketing agencies that claim to have offices all over the US actually have one employee at home in a home office that they claim to be one of their offices. One company I worked for claimed to have offices in Austin, Philadelphia and Minneapolis /St. Paul. In all three cases it was just a person at home. I think you'll see more of that as communication technology advances… Who's to say I couldn't work from Starbuck's with my T-mobile hotspot Wi-Fi and cell phone? JMO

Is it me– or does this sound like a plug? Picking our brain for your next big project??

Why is this in multicultural marketing?

(just asking)

Anyway.. to reply.
I am an active member of Elance. Yes it is a great site. It connects free-lance professionals like ourselves with work.

BUT

I have never seen any work related to the type of work we do here at EventSpeak. Work I have found (and seen) on E-lance in the marketing section are:

telemarketing
webmarketing
logo and brand creation

These are all forms of marketing that do not need to create an experience like ..ahem.. experiential marketing does.

Plus sites like Elance are extremely global and do not attract local markets.. Bidders on projects are from EVERYWHERE. How could you be sure that the accepted bid even knows anything about the market they are creating for..

(Example- Some one in South East Asis *no offense to anyone from there* creating a marketing campaign for Mobile, Alabama *no offense to anyone form there…) I'm sure you could ask the bidders.. but come on- why bother?

Even if Elance is a good site to bid on projects to create a marketing campaign.. its not relevant to EventSpeakers.

–oh and btw- Elance charges to bid on projects–

Leave those sites to the free-lance writers, stay at home telemarketers, and website coders. EventSpeak is good enough for us!

there will always be a need for actual offices for agencies. clients want a place to physically, in person, the old school way, meet in person. some clients are ok with phone calls or skype or whatever. these technologies are making it easier for freelance marketers and agencies to reach out to clients that are "out of town", but the industry will never be strictly online.
