Anybody ever get a speeding ticket driving a company vehicle on Tour? How much do potiential employers look at when making a decision to hire you?
I got a fuckn ticket on 55 headed to chicago. You know the part where it says 55mph for trailers and if you are going 55 then every damn body just blows past you. Assholes1!!!

The easiest way not to get a speeding ticket in the promo vehicle is to set the cruise control.

You need to know that getting a ticket in the promo vehicle is just like getting a ticket in your vehicle. The company gets a "ding" on their motor carrier record and their insurance has the potential to go up. Also if the company gets too many "dings" they could lose their motor carrier number, you could be subject to many more secondary checks going thru weigh stations and the marketing company could be subject to many more audits. You could be put out of service if some error is made on a log book entry. Speeding is a big issue and has no upside. I have given you the extreme situation but I assure you I have seen this occur with other drivers. I have had my license since 1990. I have never had a speeding ticket in a promo vehicle.

Also I do not know if you know but several years ago legislation was passed that does not allow you to go to traffic school to get those tickets off your record.

Slow down Eddie, just leave earlier so you can get there on time. The marketing firm has to have their insurance company approve your driving record and you could lose out on a gig because of that ticket.

I drive slow and careful. It scares me to death all those other drivers doing 80 but I just put on the cruise control and insure I leave early enough to make it to the next market.

Good luck!

Nice Mouth EDDIE!

You Aren't the first to get a ticket, or the last so "Man UP there Jimmy Johnson".

I know in most cases it depends how bad the ticket was.

55 in a school zone will get you fired pretty quickly, along with 20 miles over the posted speed limit. Its been a while since I got pulled over, but most fleet managers will read you the riot act whether you get the ticket or not.

The best thing I've learned is to admit your mistake, don't try to hide it, and if you plan on fighting the ticket be as professional as possible. Most of the time your going to have to pay for your mistake out of your pocket so thats usually enough incentive for me to do the speed limit. I'll do 5 to 8 miles an hour over in those parts of the country where there is absolutly nothing but coyotes, rabbits, and tumble weeds though. 15 -20 miles outside of a City is also where you need to watch out!

The Key is to work with your Managers to make sure they give you plenty of time to get from one place to the other. If you don't feel comfortable with the amount of time they gave you (say something as soon as possible.) Remember at the end of the day its your responsibility, so make sure to cover your butt by planning well ahead of time.

Cruise control, my friend. then rock out to your favorite jams. you can't imagine how many "good jobs" i've gotten from random people emailing the client telling how nice it is to have a courteous driver on the road who is having a good time in his vehicle. i can only imagine how many emails say the opposite for the other drivers out there.

CDL drivers are not eligible to take traffic school for moving violations per federal DOT regulations.

Hey,
I recieved a letter from the DMV saying that my license will be suspended on a certain date due to a failure to answer a summons for a speeding ticket that they say I recieved in September of 2004. I had never actually recieved a speeding ticket in this town, nor did they ever send any correspondence of such a ticket to my home of record for those past 7 years. Is it possible for them to even do this 7 years after the alleged crime, especially seeing as how I have been living overseas for the past 4 and a half years? And why would they even bother with it 7 years later?

The centralized id program is getting more organized and perhaps you got a red light ticket and was incorrectly contacted by a outside company who had no updated address info. Find out.

I’ve built success redefining job descriptions, responsibilities, hands-on training, and implementing new policies and procedures resulting in firmer structure and more lively events. Meet Me and become someone better. Cal Lee
